Curt Pintle Hitch Rated To 20,000 lb Capacity Compatibility With 10 Ton Trailer

Question:
We have a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 HD service truck with a 2inch hitch and we are planing to tow a 10 ton hudson trailer with pintle hitch , Do you think this Pintle hook if enoug ? any suggestions .

The Curt Pintle Hook for 2" Hitches - 20,000 lbs, # C48004 will be at its full capacity for a 10 ton trailer, but is rated to handle it. Your 2010 Ram 3500 HD is only rated to tow 12,100 at the bumper unless you have done extensive upgrades in making it a service truck. My concern with this application isn't the pintle hook, but rather your transmission, so I recommend looking into your vehicle capacities with the upgrades and allowing that to limit your towing for safety.
