Weight Capacity of the Rack'Em Trailer Ramp Assist part # RA-27C
Updated 12/26/2016 | Published 12/24/2016 >
Question:
How do you figure the 200 lb. limitation of the trailer ramp. Is this the weight of the trailer ramp disconnected from the trailer and weighed by itself or is it the weight of the trailer ramp edge itself that is opposite from the hinged edge of the ramp connected to the trailer? In other words, if I place the free edge of the trailer on a scale as it is lowered down but say a foot or so off the ground. Is that the point that you determine the weight that you would have to manually lift vertically to raise the ramp up? Is that the 200lb. weight you are referring to?

Expert Reply:
The capacity of the Rack'Em part # RA-27C would be the lifting strength of the unit. That means that if it required less than 200 lbs of lifting strength to lift the ramp of the ground it would help. Now with varying length ramps and side rail heights being factored in that figure can make things a bit harder to determine but if your ramp weighs less than 200 lbs this will work well with it.
