Recommended Way to Flat Tow 2012 Nissan Versa with CVT Transmission

Question:

Can I use a tow bar to flat tow a 2012 Versa behind my RV? I see I can bring y the base plate for it, but manual says NO. Its an auto with CVT

If your owners manual says you cannot flat tow your vehicle with all four wheels down on the ground we can't recommend you do so as that would void the warranty of the vehicle and potentially damage it.

I checked with Nissan and they recommend that your vehicle only be flat towed with a dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly part # RM-2050-1 which keeps the front wheels off the ground. Tow dollies are nice as they really aren't that much more than a decent flat towing setup, don't have a long install time, and can easily be transferred to other vehicles for future use. The base plate kit of a vehicle for flat towing can't be installed on a different vehicle.
