Replacement For Piece Of Locking Mechanism On Yakima Skybox 16

Question:

Good morning. Im looking for a part for my Yakima skybox 16newer model. A piece of the locking mechanism broke and I need a replacement. Its where the horizontal pin on the lid fits into the channel on the bottom half of the box and keeps the lid in place. There are two on each side. Please help. Thanks.

I reached out to my contact at Yakima and we are a little confused on what you are referring to. If it is part of the lock itself on your Yakima SkyBox 16 Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Carbonite, # Y07335, you will want to replace the lock with Replacement SuperLatch Handle Assemblies for Yakima SkyBox Rooftop Cargo Boxes - Qty 2, # Y8880348.

If you are looking at the pieces that hold the large hinge pin in place, I confirmed with Yakima they do not offer a replacement for that mounting bracket, so unfortunately you will be looking at a custom fix or replacing the unit.

If there is some other piece that you are referring to, please send a picture of the broken piece and I'll do some research for you.
