Question:
I want to add only 18inch to my 50 amp rv cord. It is to connect my expensive surge protector in motorhome basement. The only 50 amp to 50 amp I see is marine locking style. Will a 50 amp male rv plug connect to 50 amp female marine plug? Is a 50 amp rv to 50 amp rv available in short cord?

The # CAM55215 seems to be what you are looking for. This is an 18 inch long 50 amp to 50 amp extension cord that doesn't use locking rings like you said you didn't want to mess with.
