What do you recommend for transporting a bike for my mustang convertible? I dont want to put a hitch on the car. Thanks

If you want to put a manufacturer recommended bike rack on your vehicle, you will have to install a trailer hitch. Unfortunately there are no confirmed fit trunk mounted bike racks from any of our manufacturers for a 2015 Mustang Convertible. I reached out to my contact at Thule and they said it is because the convertible is unable to support the weight of the carrier with bikes attached without damage to the vehicle.

If you choose to put a trailer hitch mounted bike rack on your car, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch, # 24928. This is a custom fit for your vehicle that requires no drilling. It bolts to your vehicle frame, but the exhaust does need to be temporarily lowered to install. It will give you a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.

I have attached a link to all of the Class I compatible bike racks for you. I recommend the Thule Camber 2-Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # TH9058. This will give you a very well made, easy to store rack that will carry the bikes away from your vehicle. The arms fold down and the rack tilts away to allow you better access to your trunk. The shank has a threaded hitch pin to take the noise and vibration out of the hitch.
