To mount the Bulldog Winch Universal Winch Mounting Plate, # BDW20008, you will need to drill and bolt it to a sturdy location on your 1998 Chevrolet K2500, or weld it in place. The Universal Plate is designed to fit the 10 x 4-1/2 mount of many winches, but how it fits to your specific truck is up to you to determine. We unfortunately don't have a custom fit mount for your truck.
We do have another option for you. If you want to install a Front Hitch Receiver that is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, like the Draw-Tite # 65005, then you could use the a Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate like # 6495. The benefit of going this route is there is no customization needed and you get the functionality of a front hitch for any other application as well.
