I have been trying to find instructions for installing a Kats engine heater to see where and how this is completed. Can you provide some information on how and where the unit is installed? Looking for information before I purchase the unit.

I called my contact at Kat's about your 2016 Ford Explorer. They told me that the Cartridge Style Heater, part # KH11815 will not fit the 3.5L engine you have.
The engine heater that will work with your engine is the frost plug style, part # KH11409. The frost plug is located at the rear of the engine on the passenger side.
