My truck has the 7 way and my trailer has 6 pole

To adapt the 7-way connector on your truck to the 6-way on your trailer, I would recommend the 7 Pole to 6 Pole Adapter with 4 Pole, part # 47565. This adapter also has an integrated 4-pole connector.
There are two accepted methods of wiring a 6-way connector, one uses the center pin as the brake output circuit, the other uses the center pin as the 12-volt lead for accessory power. This adapter can be wired either way.
