For a cost-effective powered car trailer winch you can consider the Bulldog Winch # BDW15019 which includes a roller fairlead and wire rope. This winch offers a 2-minute duty cycle (15 minutes of cool down time is required between cycles) and with a 4400-lb load it will draw 340-amps. Your 3000-lb rolling load will of course require less power. At maximum load its speed is 4-1/2-feet per minute. The free-spooling clutch means you don't have to use up battery power to extend the wire rope; it can be pulled out by hand.
Bulldog recommends a battery with 650 or more cold cranking amps.
