Wire Connector Recommendation for 20 Gauge Wire on Trailer
Published 10/06/2016 >
Question:
Recommend which quick splicer should be used for clearance/side light splice to new 35 trailer harness20 gauge as most of the splicers you have are for 10-12 or 14-16 gauge. With mismatch can be difficult to close splicer

Expert Reply:
For a 20 gauge wire I would not recommend the use of a quick splice connector. The core of the wire would be too thin for it to work well. You would most likely end up cutting the core of the wire when tightening it. I would recommend soldering as the best solution and then beyond that butt connectors like the part # DW05743-10 would be the next best solution.
