Question:
Hello, I have a question regarding the compatibility of the Draw-Tite 76084 with the 2015 Subaru Impreza Hatback Single Exhaust. One expert reply suggests that it is compatible However, other expert replies suggest that a Class III hitch is not compatible with the 2013-2016 Impreza Hatch, and only Class I hitches are compatible: The reply states All of these hitches have a maximum tongue weight TW capacity of 200-lbs. There is no higher-rated hitch made for your car because the cars frame cannot handle more than this. When I browse my vehicle on the website, the 76084 rack does show up, so I am a little confused if the 76084 would be a good option for me. I only plan to use it for a Thule TH9043 bike rack with 2 bikes, however, I would like the flexibility of having a 2inch hitch vs a 1.25inch hitch in case I want to switch racks down the road for example. I also read that a Class III hitch in general is more sturdy. Is this 2inch Class III hitch compatible with the 2013-2016 Impreza hatch single exhaust or am I best to stick with the Draw-Tite 24886 since the vehicle is only rated for 200 lbs tongue? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
I think the confusion is in the use of the term wagon. It appears that for 2015 there were no wagon models, just 4-door sedans and 5-door hatchbacks.
So if you look at the video I have linked for Curt trailer hitch # C11286 you will see it is an Impreza Sport 5-door hatchback which hitch manufacturers are calling the wagon. If yours looks like the one in the video then Draw-Tite hitch # 76084, shown for wagons, would fit provided your model has a single exhaust pipe.
