Can Tire Chains be Used on a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ with P285/40R22 Tires

When looking for tire chains a lot depends on how much you think you will use them, what kind of terrain you will be on (on road, off road, both), and how much work you want to do to install chains.

If you just need to have a set of chains in the vehicle to comply with local laws then you don't have to spend a lot of money and can use # PW2028C for 285/40R22 tires (on road use only).

If you need on and off road capabilities then you can use chains # PWH2828SC.

But if you are looking for traction I recommend square link chains # PWE2228SC. These chains are also reversible meaning that when they wear down enough you can flip them "inside out" and it is like a new set of chains. They cost more but if you will be out in the snow and ice a lot they are a great investment.

I do have to tell you that according to the owner's manual for the 2015 Chevy Tahoe:

If the vehicle has 265/65R18, P265/65R18, P275/55R20, or P285/45R22 size tires, do not use tire chains. There is not enough clearance. Tire chains used on a vehicle without the proper amount of clearance can cause damage to the brakes, suspension, or other vehicle parts. The area damaged by the tire chains could cause loss of control and a crash. Use another type of traction device only if its manufacturer recommends it for the vehicle's tire size combination and road conditions. Follow that manufacturer's instructions. To avoid vehicle damage, drive slow and readjust or remove the traction device if it is contacting the vehicle. Do not spin the wheels. If traction devices are used, install them on the rear tires.
