Question:
Need to hook up wiring kit to pull a trailer with a 92 Chevy van

To get your 1992 Chevrolet Van wired to pull a trailer, I would recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # C55338. This will quickly plug into the existing wiring without splicing or cutting. You will need to remove the interior trim panels to install, but once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will simply rest in the cargo area when not in use.
If you need to pull a trailer that has brakes, then you will need to first install the Curt harness, and then install a Universal Wiring Kit for a Trailer Brake Controller, # ETBC7. This kit will give you all the wires, circuit breakers, and connections you need. You will also need a brake controller to pull a trailer with brakes. I'd recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller, # TK90160. This is a proportional controller that will apply the brakes to your trailer with the same pressure as the Chevrolet Van towing it. It has an LED display and a power boost when you need it for heavy loads. It's features makes it very easy to use.
