in reference to: https://www.etrailer.com/question-28295.html I have a similar situation but needed to also know the dimensions of the top part of the brackets... Also how thick of a material is this? Thank you

The # RP58314 universal brackets are 2.5 inches wide and 4 inches long on top. The length for the long brackets are 7.5 inches and 5.6 inches for the short brackets. Both brackets are .391 inches thick.
