Question:
I am interested on this curt hitch,C13200, primarily for bike rack mounting. Does this hitch support vertical load? I read in the internet that installed hitch for toyota highlander which does not support vertical load will void the warranty.

The Curt Hitch, part # C13200 is designed as a fit for your 2016 Highlander. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening.
When you ask about the vertical load I think you may be talking about tongue weight, which is the weight that is placed on the hitch vertically when anything is installed in the hitch. This hitch has a 900-lb tongue weight capacity which is much more than the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle. If you are planning on carrying bikes in the hitch you will probably not come close to the capacity for the hitch or the Highlander.
The biggest thing to be concerned with is the clearance you need for a bike carrier. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to determine how much clearance you have for hitch mounted accessories to make sure they clear the back of the vehicle. The distance from the center of the hitch pin to the back edge of the rear bumper is 2-inches.
I have attached a link to our product page for hitch mounted bike carriers you can check out. If you have any questions let me know and I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
