Question:

Hi there, im looking for a hitch to mount on a Toyota RAV4, 2014, automatic, front-wheel drive, to carry a 2 bikes and a bike rack, less than 100 lbs in total. What type of hitch would you recommend for this purpose? i dont need a 3500-4000 lbs load limit. Cheers,

I recommend the etrailer 2-inch trailer hitch # e98864, for your 2014 Toyota RAV4 for three reasons. The cost is lower than the 1-1/4 version, a 2 inch hitch receiver will be more compatible with hitch accessories in the market, and you will not need to use a stabilization strap like the # 18050 with the Draw-Tite hitch like you will with the Curt branded hitch stated by their warranty.

For a great 2-bike rack that can fit either the 2 inch # e98864 or 1-1/4 # C12108 hitch receiver, I recommend the Thule Helium Pro # TH9042PRO. The # TH9042PRO is a great rack. It has some great features also like the integrated hitch and cable locks, the new cradles that have 2 layers of cushioning and the Hold Fast anti sway cradles, and its light weight design.
