I checked with Kat's Heaters and cartridge heater # KH11813 is the correct model for your 2010 Toyota RAV4 with the 6 cylinder motor. It installs at the back left of the engine (left meaning the driver's side).
The general instructions are:
1) Locate cartridge hole on the engine block.
2) Clean cartridge hole of all debris. Use compressed air.
3) Attach cord to heater.
4) Install heater into the hole. Rotate the clip on the cord to the proper position to secure the heater and cord to the engine block and heater.
5) Route the cord through the grill, using cable ties to prevent the cord from getting in contact with any hot or moving parts.
