Can Thule Roof Rack Placement be Moved to Move Cargo Box Back on 2011 Ford Edge

Question:

Hi, I had originally asked what box would fit my 2011 Ford Edge and it was recommended that the TH635b would be a good fit. I have bought and installed it with the1530 fit kit and was wondering if I could adjust the rear bars back a little more so that the Roof Box is closer to the rear hatch. I have attached images of what I am talking about. It feels like it overhangs a bit to much in the front but I have space to move the bar back which will give me enough room to adjust the acutight clips on the TH635b roof box. Just looking for you expert opinion if I can do this or are the fit kit measures very specific that I cant adjust the bars.

The placement of the clips that hold the roof rack feet to your 2011 Ford Edge are very specific. Moving them can cause fit problems or unintended damage to the vehicle. Are you able to move the mounting feet on the box any further forward? That would move the box rearward some.

The overhang doesn't appear to be excessive in your picture. It will create more wind resistance but if you can open the hood without hitting the box then it will still be fine.
