Question:
I noticed the 2 relays do not have a sloped beveled side so I had a 50 chance of doing it correct Can they be shorted if installed incorrectly? Any ideas?

Make sure you have the relays installed in the correct orientation. I attached a picture that shows how they should face. As someone who has wired up relays wrong in the past and they still worked once I figured out the correct wiring I can say from first hand experience that they don't short out when wired or installed wrong in most situations.
