5.30-12 Trailer Wheel and Tire Recommendation for 2,000 lb Boat Trailer

Published 07/22/2016

Question:

I am looking to purchase new 5.30 x 12, 5 bolt, tire and wheel combination for my boat trailer. I believe the weight is approximately 2,000 lbs or less. currently the tires I have are rated C. Is there any advantage safety or wear to purchasing D rated tires instead of C rated? Is the Kenda Loadstar the best tire manufacturer for this application?

Going with a higher rated tire capacity than needed doesn't really gain you anything, but since you would be right near the capacity of a Load Range C I would go ahead and go with a Load Range D.

Which for that we have two options and they are both Kenda. For a silver wheel (what I would go with) we have the part # AM30861 and for white wheel you would want the part # AM30859.
