Question:

the picture does not look right. my 2002 ford f-350 has a head 12 tall x8 wide. the picture shows the mirror lower than i would expect. will this part accept a 12x8 mirror head?

From what I was able to find on the 2002 Ford F-350, there were two types of mirrors. First, there are those that look like the one pictured on the product page for the CIPA Towing Mirror, # 11902. If your truck mirror looks like the one pictured, this towing mirror will fit.

The other type had two support beams connecting the mirror to the truck and the mirror was taller than it was wide. This sound like the 12 x 8 you described. If you have this type of mirror, the # 11902 towing mirror will not fit and you will need to use a universal towing mirror instead.

We have numerous universal fit towing mirrors available. I have included a link below to all the available options. For your truck, the mirror that would probably work best is the CIPA Deluxe Door Mount Mirror, # 11650. This mirror extends out up to 17 inches, and mounts to the door so it is easier to see and to adjust unlike a fender mounted towing mirror. I have included a link to a video review below.
