If you go to where the brake controller is plugged into your 2003 Hummer H2 you can test the pins on the vehicle side to see which ones have power. This test will tell us if there is a short on the vehicle side or if the controller is the problem.
You can use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 or a meter will work too if you have one. One of the pins should have constant power to power the brake controller. One pin should only have power when you step on the brake pedal.
If more than one wire has constant power, then there is a short on the vehicle that will need to be fixed. If it is on the output wire to the trailer connector, then check for any pinched or damaged wires as well as corrosion on or inside of the trailer connecter itself.
Also check to make sure that the # 3015-P wiring harness wires are in the same positions as shown in the picture I have included. If they are not, then you can move the wires to the proper positions.
If when you test you find no short, then that would indicate a probable issue inside the controller itself and it will need to be replaced.
