Question:
I have an aluminum 22foot Lund Baron. The trailer is a bunk style shorelander trailer. The weight including engines, fuel, gear etc. is 4300 Lbs. I would like to error on the high side for winch capacity and would prefer a remote. Can you advise what choices there are? Regards.

Choosing an over-spec powered winch for your Shorelandr boat trailer is a good idea. Winches run better and last longer when used below their maximum rated capacity.
You can view our selection of electric boat winches that have remote control operation by clicking on the linked page. For your 4300-lb Lund Baron I suggest the Bulldog Winch # BDW15020 which is highlighted in the linked video. This system includes a wired remote with 20-foot lead, a 50-foot synthetic rope that will resist deterioration from UV rays (and salt) and a Hawse fairlead. It powers your Lund both in and out for control and safety.
If you want to have even more winch safety margin you can install roller bunks that will substantially reduce the actual load on the winch by allowing the boat to roll, rather than be slid on the bunks. Please see the linked page. For example, two sets of Dutton-Lainson 5-foot roller bunks # DL21741 will reduce the load on the winch even more and allow for faster trailering.
Please note that your tow vehicle should have at least a 60-amp alternator and a battery with at least 440-CCA (cold cranking amps) to get the most out of your electric winch setup.
