Troubleshooting Air Bag Suspension System Leaking
Published 06/08/2016 >
Question:
I have air lift bags on my GMC Sierra with a 2 link and hardened copper lines. The truck lays on the frame with the bags fully deflated. The problem is my rear end bags are releasing pressure and wont stop. The front and the tank build and hold pressure just fine. As soon as I lift the rear bags they start deflating together. This happened the other day while diving through town out of nowhere they started deflating.

Typically air line leak problems are related to the air line tubing and not the bags them selves. Most commonly the problem is where the air line meets the fitting for the air bag. Not having the cut on the tube totally square causes this problem the most. Try removing the line, re-cutting the line totally square and then reinstalling it.
If that doesn't work try spraying everything air bag related with soapy wire to see if you can find where it bubbles as that would be where it is leaking.
