Hi folks. Is a life without a garage a life worth living? Well it is....but it makes it challenging when you have a new bike you dont want to leave to the elements in the back yard and your spouse wont let you keep it in the house. But I do have a beloved 1995 toyota landcruiser as a second car that i can store the bike in. Thus, i was wondering if i could use this Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2 Bike Carrier - Locking - Fork Mount on the INTERIOR of the land cruiser to store the bike. the interior width is about 58. What do you think?

The Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2 Bike Carrier # S64702 probably could be adapted to work in your 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser but I can offer you a better and lower-cost alternative. On the page I linked you can view fork-mount type bike racks that can install on the floor of the Toyota's cargo area, such as the Hollywood Racks # HRT970. Some of these even include locks, such as the Yakima Locking BlockHead Single Bike Truck Bed Mounted Rack # Y01118.

You will need to measure the height of the bike's bars with the front wheel removed and add to that height the height of the bike rack you choose. The Hollywood Racks and Yakima carriers will add 2-inches of height to the bike's own height.

I appreciate your philosophical perspective on this important life issue. Garages are, as most of us guys know, not merely places to store things we're not allowed to keep in the house. Until you have your own garage sanctuary, I hope the Toyota gets it done for you.
