Question:
We have a 2015 Kia Sorento LX AWD 4 cylinder. Can I tow a trailer and if so, how many lbs.? Do I need to add a trans cooler?

According to my research it looks like the 2015 Kia Sorento can tow between 1,650 and 3,500 lbs depending on how it is equipped. You would want to consult your owners manual to determine exactly your towing capacity.
For a hitch you would want the Curt # C13152 which is a confirmed fit for the 4 cylinder models. I attached an install video for this hitch on a 2015 Kia Sorento just like yours.
If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not include a ball mount with the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, check out the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
For trailer wiring you would then want the # C56256 which is a confirmed fit. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.
A transmission cooler would be just a good idea as at worst it will allow your transmission to live longer. The most popular option for your vehicle is the # D13503.
