How Would CE Smith Pontoon Boat Bolster Brackets Attach to Trailer Crossmember

Updated 04/26/2016 | Published 04/22/2016

Question:

Hello, I have a boat trailer Id like to add these pontoon mounts to. I am planning on installing three 2x2inch galvanized steel cross members to the trailer and mount the bracket on top. I am having trouble picturing which u-bolts could accommodate a 2inch wide cross member and still fit the holes on this bracket that are 1 1/4foot Im new to this so I may well be missing something. Alternatively I could just drill through the cross members and through-bolt. Thoughts? Thanks

If the # CE10052-32G was going to get attached to a trailer cross member you would want to bolt it through the cross member since the bolt holes wouldn't line up properly with a u-bolt. Since the install holes go left to right on the bracket the bracket couldn't align properly on a cross member. It would be turned 90 degrees from where it would need to face.
