Question:
Will this bike rack fit on my 2009 Mini Copper convertible? Is all I need is to have a hitch mounted to the car?

The Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Platform Style for 1-1/4" and 2" Trailer Hitches # S64650 does require that your car have either a 1-1/4-inch or 2-inch hitch receiver installed. Your 2009 Mini Cooper convertible can be fitted with a 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch # C11130 if it is the S-Series, or part # C11160 if it has the single exhaust and is NOT an S-Series nor a Works series. Either way you'll need to add a strap # 18050 to help support the hitch tube; this is a warranty requirement from Curt.
I have linked installation videos for both hitches.
If you like you can add a cable lock # e98891 to both secure the rack to your hitch through the cable loops and to secure your bikes to the rack.
