Question:
THERE IS A RATTLE BETWEEN THE CLASS II DRAWBAR AND THE HITCH WHEN I AM PULLING A TRAILER. SEEMS TO BE A GOOD FIT WITH HITCH AND WITH THE LOCKING PIN. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS? THIS IS VERY ANNOYING. OTHER THAN THAT THE HITCH WORKS GREAT.

Expert Reply:
Hitch, ball mount, and/or accessory rattle can be annoying and it is a common ailment. Luckily, there is a cure. First, you can make sure that your trailer has the correct tongue weight. Tongue weight should be 10 to 15 percent of gross trailer weight when it is loaded and ready to tow.
If tongue weight is correct, you can use an anti-rattle device. I recommend the Anti-Rattle Wedge, # RM-061-125. It is designed to fit in 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches like # 36408 on your 2005 Saturn Vue. When the wedge is tightened, it pulls the ball mount to the side of the receiver tube and holds it there so it cannot rattle.
