Brake Controller and 7-Way Recommendation and Install Help for 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:
I have a 2002 Chevy pickup model 1500. I need to put a complete 7 way RV wiring harness on to put a camper with electric brakes. Can you give me the part numbers I need and instructions on how to install. Also include the brake controller. The truck does not have a tow package on it now other than for small trailers.

We have everything you will need to install a 7-way and brake controller on your 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500. You will want the 7-way part # HM40975 to install a 7-way. This will plug right into the round plug that is above the spare tire. Or, if there is only a bundle of wires there you would need to hardwire the # 30955 to the wires. Most likely you will use the # HM40975 though as most trucks have plug.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.
For an install harness you would want the part # 3025-P which will plug right into the port under your dash. Check out the install video I attached for installing a controller using this harness in a 2002 Silverado like yours.
There will be a few underhood connections that will need to be made as well. In the video I mentioned this will be covered but I also attached a help article that covers this as well.
