I was just wondering if the draw tite hitch for my car will support a bike rack safely, or will it need straps to connect to the trunk?

The Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 24787, for your 2006 Honda Accord Coupe, does not require additional straps when using a non-trailer load such as a bike rack, but it is not a bad idea to add them for extra support and stabilization. You can use something as simple as a Bungee Cord, like # 3031DAT.
With a Class I trailer hitch like # 24787, you must choose the bike rack very carefully as the hitch only has a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. I recommend a light weight 2 bike rack like the Kuat Beta, # B202-114. This rack weighs a mere 12-3/5 pounds yet can still hold up to 100 pounds. That would be under 113 pounds off the tongue weight capacity leaving you with 87 pounds and peace of mind.
