Is Converter Needed When Installing Trailer Wiring Harness On 2009 Chevrolet Equinox
Updated 03/31/2016 | Published 03/29/2016 >
Question:
Do i need a converter in addition to this plug in simple adapter? And can it be wired into the adapter or do i have to tap into vehicle wiring?

Expert Reply:
On your Equinox there is a trailer wiring port in the rear cargo area inside the door that houses the jack. The wiring has already been converted so no additional converter is needed if you use this wiring port.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # C56012 will work great for your Equinox. I have attached a link to an installation video you can check out that shows just how to access the wiring harness on your vehicle.
