Updated 03/21/2016 | Published 03/19/2016 >
Question:
There is no red wire in the harness on the back of the truck. Where does it go? I am wiring in a prodigy 3 brake controller. Theres a red wire on the pollak 7 way harness to the plug.

Expert Reply:
On a Pollak 7-Way trailer connector/wiring harness the red wire is for left turn signal and brake light functions. On many aftermarket wiring harnesses you usually see a yellow wire for left turn and brake lights at the trailer connector. But on a Pollak 7-Way the red wire takes that function. I have included a link to our help article on trailer wiring which includes diagrams of the front and back of both vehicle and trailer side connectors.
