Can Bias and Radial Tires be Used at the Same Time on a Trailer

mixing bias and radial on tandem trailer Can or should this be done 8x14 flat bed 3000lb total weight light duty

You should not mix bias and radial tires on any trailer. It would only be OK if it was an emergency situation, like getting a flat, and you just needed to get to a place to replace the flat tire. The problem is that the two different types will wear unevenly, it can cause tracking problems, suspension issues if left unchecked, and one tire can heat up more than the other leading to eventual failure.

If you have the option of both radial or bias in the size and load range you need then I recommend using radial tires because they run cooler and track better than bias tires. I have linked our help article on trailer tires for you.
