Will Part #33355 actually fit the 2016 Tacoma?

The trailer wiring harness options for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma right now are all hardwire installations, since the truck is still a very new model, so that excludes # 33355. But you can use the ZCI harness # 119250KIT to avoid having to cut and splice into the vehicle tail light wiring.
