In order to reduce trailer sway when towing with your 2008 Jeep Liberty I recommend using either a sway control system by itself or a weight distribution system with sway control. If you just want to use sway control only I recommend Reese # 83660 and sway control bracket # RP26003 for a 2 inch hitch or # RP26005 for a Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
If you want to go with weight distribution with sway control I recommend # PS49901. It is rated for up to 550 pounds tongue weight and comes with the sway control bar. I have linked a video of this system as well.
