Can a Titan Model 10 Actuator Support Two Drum Brake Axles
Updated 01/06/2016 | Published 01/05/2016 >
Question:
I have a tandem axle trailer with the Titan model 10 coupler and 3500 lb axles. It currently has brakes on the forward axle and I am considering adding a brake to the rear axle, but I wanted to ensure I didnt need to upgrade the master cylinder on the actuator or if it could handle the added volume of 2 extra brakes. Title:Can I add these to the 2nd axle of a trailer with surge actuator? Do I need to upgrade the actuator?

A model 10 Titan actuator can handle the volume of brake fluid required to activate the brakes of a tandem axle trailer.
You would just need to add the brake lines, brake assemblies, and hub drums to the axle so that it will have brakes as well.
I attached a help article on adding hydraulic assemblies to a trailer for you to check out. Basically you are going to need to know what spindles you have on your trailer so that you can pick out the correct hub/drums and then assemblies based off of that.
