Would the Rear Hatch Open With Yakima FrontLoader Installed on 2014 Mazda CX-5
Published 11/16/2015 >
Question:
Im considering purchasing a Yakima Frontloader for my 2014 Mazda CX-5 that has the factory side rails and cross bars. I read a review somewhere dont recall where that you cannot open the rear hatch door with this rack in place. Do you know if that is true and if so, if there is any remedy for this such as shortening the rack?

I attached a review video that shows the Yakima Frontloader part # Y02103 being demoed on a similar Mazda CX-5 as yours for you to check out.
It looks like it would be pretty close to allowing the rear hatch to open, but if it wouldn't you could always reverse the bike rack to get it more clearance behind the rear crossbar.
