Question:
I have a ditch witch trailer that caries a load of just under 1000 pounds. The rims are 8inch and 4.5inch width. What tire size are comparable with the 4.5inch width? I see that 5.7-8 use 3.75 and 16.5-6.5 use 5.375.... What other see tires exist.

Expert Reply:
When calculating rim width you don't include the added width that the lip of the rim adds.
It sounds like you most likely have a 3-3/4 inch wide rim and either a 4.80/4.00-8 like part # AM10004 or a 5.70-8 like # AM10013 would fit.
Otherwise you would need to upgrade to new tires and rims like the part # AM30120 for if you have a 4 on 4 inch bolt patter or part # AM30140 for if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
