The Dutton-Lainson # DL24872 AC Powered Winch is indeed designed to run on 120V AC which is what standard residential power circuits are. It draws 6 amps at maximum load.
It includes 25 feet of 7/32 inch steel wire rope. Dutton-Lainson does offer a replacement cable and hook assembly, part # DL24047 that is exactly what comes with the winch. A hook on 25 feet of 7/32 wire rope.
My contact at Dutton-Lainson states that the winch isn't meant for longer lengths of cable than the 25 foot it was designed to work with.
