In the installation process of the Curt Class III # C13050 hitch, the spare tire is temporarily removed because the heat shield and exhaust brackets need to be modified as shown in the installation instructions and the install video I've linked for you. When the installation is complete, the spare tire is returned to its original position.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need the following:
Trailer wiring harness, part # C59236
Ball mount, part # C45030
1-7/8 hitch ball, part # 19260 or 2 inch ball, part # 63845
Locking hitch pin, part # e98882
