Carrying Vespa Scooter in Hitch Mounted Carrier on 2010 Honda Odyssey.

Is there a motorcycle carrier that will work on a 2010 Honda Odyssey mini van with a Hidden Hitch that is rated as follows: Trailer Hitch Size: 2 Inch Hitch Opening Towing Capacity: 350 Pound Tongue Weight 3500 Pound Towing Weight Distribution Towing Capacity: 500 lbs WD TW Pound Tongue Weight 5000 lbs WD GTW Pound Towing I would like to haul a 2007 Vespa LX150 witch has a dry weight spec of 225 LBs.

We do have an option that would work. The Ultra Fab Motorcycle Carrier, part # UF48-979033 could be used if the tires of your scooter are less than 5 inches wide. The carrier weighs around 45 lbs, so the weight of the carrier and the scooter would come in around 270 lbs, well under the tongue weight capacity of the hitch. I'd also recommend checking your owner's manual to see if Honda lists a maximum tongue weight capacity for hitch mounted accessories. You'll need to abide by the tongue weight capacity Honda lists, if it's lower than that of the hitch. You also will have limited ground capacity at the rear of the carrier, so you'll want to be careful about backing down sloped driveways.
