Question:

This sounds stupid as I am thinking of this, however, here it goes. When the blades flatten out at speed which way does the fan move? Towards the radiator or the engine. I have 3 5/8 inches to play with , from face water pump to, back of the radiator. My fan is 2. 1/4 inches deep. So as you can see, the spacer is very, to get it wright, important. Thanks PS. 1955 ford,351W,AC,PS, Disc, drum, C6 , coustom alu radiator, slammed down.

From the information that I was able to obtain for a 351 motor, a reverse rotation flex fan like part # D17617 would not work with your motor but I do have a solution.

I am assuming that you were looking to use a flex fan to avoid engine overload and boost the mileage and horsepower in your slammed 1955 Ford. Instead I recommend taking a look at an electric fan. You'll want to measure to see exactly how much space you have available. For example the Derale 32 inch Dual Tornado Electric Fan Assembly, # D16834, measures 31-3/4 inches wide x 15-5/8 inches tall x 3-1/4 inches deep. This fan can be used as a pusher or puller so it can be mounted on either side of the radiator.
