Question:
I have a 2013 Laredo Fifth Wheel Trailer, to which I would like to install an exterior ladder to access the roof. My trailer is flat on the back side, and does not require any hinged flexible joints. I also would like to anchor the bottom of the ladder on the top of the rear bumper, instead of on the lower section of the rear wall. The distance from the top of the roof, to the top of the rear bumper, is 91.5 inches. I was looking at the LA-401 ladder but it is hinged. Do you have any other models, or know of any other models, that would do the job.

Expert Reply:
Although all the RV ladders we offer that are sufficiently long to reach from your bumper up to the roof are hinged, you could still use the # LA-401 by adding two extra standoffs, part # 8535 right under the hinges to stabilize the ladder and prevent movement. You can easily cut the ladder down to the desired length so it will mount to the top of your bumper.
