10-gauge wire like # 10-1-1 is typically used for 12V power feeds for a trailer connector but in the case of super-efficient LED lights like the Optronics Thin-Line LED Racing Light Kit # LS-108 you are fine using lighter 12-gauge wire # 12-1-1. LEDs draw about 1/10th of the power required by standard incandescent lights so you'll be just fine with this 12-gauge wire for your installation.
