According to my contact at Kat's Heaters, you'll be looking for a core plug opening on the rear of the engine block, located on the driver's side. The heater is not actually immersed in the anti-freeze, it will fit into a cavity in the engine block and will heat the surrounding metal of the engine block, acting much like a radiator. The cavity you're looking for is just under an inch in diameter (.885 of an inch, to be exact). Because there's not much room between the rear of the engine and the firewall, finding it from underneath might be easier.
The # KH11811 is a direct replacement for the OEM block heater cartridge.
