Question:

I have a reese fifth wheel hitch with rails in my chevy, and I have just gotten a curt 16055 gooseneck bent plate and when I went to install it, I noticed that there were only 2 mount holes on each side of center. I thought that all rails had 3 holes on each side of center

The Curt Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, # 16055, is designed to fit Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, and Valley standard fifth wheel base rails which have the 3 holes on each side of the center. I have included a picture of industry standard rails for you.

Since you mention that your rails only have two holes on each side of the center, it sounds like the rails in the bed of your Chevy aren't industry standard and may need to be replaced in order to mount part # 16055. If you can send me an email with the year of your truck, I will be happy to make a recommendation for a custom install kit for your truck.
