Question:
Im looking at replacing my current tires, Bias 6ply with a Radial 8ply. My Current rims are 15x5 5x4.5 rated for 1820lbs. If I go with a stronger tire 8ply vs. 6ply will my current rims be able to take a higher pressure? Because 6 ply is 1820lbs @ 50psi and 8 ply 2150lbs @ 65psi. Would I then HAVE to get 15x6 rim? The 15x6 rim is rated for 2050 pounds at 75psi. I dont want to get new wheels. Im guessing I should stick with the 6ply. Your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

To increase your load carrying capacity for tires and wheels you will need to replace the wheels as well as the tires. Since you said you do not want to replace the wheels on your trailer I recommend staying with the 6-ply tires like part # TTWTRTM2057515C. This is a load range C radial tire that has a load capacity of 1,820 lbs at 50 psi.
Changing to a higher weight capacity tire and wheel will not increase the weight capacity of your trailer.
If you decide you want to change out the wheels on your trailer, we offer a 15 x 6 wheel like part # AM20551 which does have an increased weight rating of 2,050 lbs at 75 psi, and is an 8-ply radial tire.
One of the load range D radial tires we offer is part # TTWTRTM2257515D. It has an 8-ply rating and has a load capacity of 2,540 lbs at 65 psi.
