My Swagman representative tells me that the wheel hoops aren't rated for a bike weighing more than 35 lbs, so even if you're only carrying one bike you would still be limited to a 35 lb per bike capacity.

We do carry similar racks with higher capacities. The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z is rated for 45 lbs per bike. Their Sport Rider SE2, part # HR1450Z has a 50 lb per bike capacity.
